Mr. Timothy Martin was retained by Balcones Geotechnical to provide pavement engineering services for the 183 North Mobility Project. The Project consists of 9 miles of 183 between SH 45 and Mopac that was to be widened and rehabilitated as well as addition of connectors.
Scope of work included the review of pavement design strategies for the general purpose lanes and frontage roads submitted as part of the RIDS, as well as pavement performance criteria and warrantee provisions as required in the project technical provisions. Pavement designs were provided for temporary roadways using TXDOT’s FPS-21 software.
Pavement evaluation recommendations were provided to confirm the remaining life of the pavement and identify localized areas for full depth repairs.
