Mr. Timothy Martin was retained by Ferrovial and Webber to provide pavement engineering services for the I-635 LBJ East project. The project consisted of 11 miles of reconstruction and widening of I-635 from US 75 to I-30, including the I-635/I-30 interchange. The general purpose lanes were to be expanded and the existing tolled managed lanes rebuilt.
Scope of work included the evaluation of optimal pavement design strategies that comply with the designated design procedures and technical provisions for the project. Pavement designs were provided for the main lanes, frontage roads, cross streets, managed lanes and temporary roadways. The pavement designs were developed using the TXDOT ME-CRCP software. Temporary roadways were designed using TXDOT’s FPS-21 software
