Mr. Timothy Martin was retained by Intertek-PSI to provide pavement engineering services for the Southeast Connector Project. The Project consists of approximately 17 miles of I-20, I-820 and US 287 in southeast Ft. Worth.
Scope of work included the development of optimized pavement design strategies including Continually Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) and perpetual and conventional flexible pavements. Options included reconstruction, widening and rehabilitation for the general purpose lanes and frontage roads.
TXDOT’s ME-CRCP software was utilized to develop CRCP designs using either HMA or CTB base types. Flexible pavement designs were provided using TXDOT’s FPS-21 software.
